We've just got back from the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup in Queenstown, New Zealand, after three days of bungee jumping, power boating, hanging from the rafters of bars and supping cocktails made by some of the finest bartenders in the world. Its pretty tough being RALPHman, hey? Oh, and did we mention the Playboy playmates?
Joining us on this trip of a lifetime were playmates Ashley Hobbs and Jordan Monroe (pictured) who'd flown in from the States to poo their pants at the top of the bungee jump and generally be world-class eye candy to distract the bartenders from the serious side of the competition. We caught up with 24-year-old Jordan (on the right) to talk about the life of a model, what Hugh Hefner's like and what it takes to score with a Playboy playmate.
What does being a playmate involve?
First up you do the shoot, which can take anywhere from two weeks to a couple of months, depending on what they want. Then after that you get access to the Playboy Mansion for the rest of your life and get sent the magazine forever. You have to do appearances right around the country promoting all the brand's products. It's awesome; it's like a family. If you're a good-working playmate and you stay in shape, they keep using you for a long time.
If it's a family, does that make Hef the pervy old dad?
Ha ha! Well, I wouldn't really describe him as the dad as that would be pretty weird! But, yeah, I guess he's the poppa there and he has certain ways he likes things done. He knows what he's looking for in a girl and it's not just looks but personality as well.
An amazing figure and 34DD chest probably help though! What do you think of Hef getting married again at the ripe old age of 84?
I think it's awesome. When I was hanging out at the mansion it was when Holly [Madison, 32], Kendra [Wilkinson, 25] and Bridget [Marquardt, 37] were there, so I'm used to them. But I've met Chrystal [Harris, 24] a couple of times and she seems like a really nice down-to-earth girl. She seems like she would be a good companion and that's what he's looking for; he's looking for someone to settle down with for the rest of his life and she's "the one" I guess!
What would you be doing if you weren't a playmate?
You know what, I'd probably have graduated college a lot sooner! I probably would have still been in Nebraska — this has completely changed my life, the networking. And I'm mean, look — I'm in New Zealand now! Although that's not the normal day in the life of a playmate.
What do you think of New Zealand?
It's been quite surreal. It's like heaven! Even when we were on the jet boats earlier, you could just look at all the mountains and all the crazy things we have done so far. It's also very peaceful and beautiful.
Apart from when we were swinging from the rafters on the pub crawl. Do you ever get famous guys hitting on you?
Er, yeah! Just a little bit. People think because you're a playmate that you're going to be easy, and also a lot of celebrities are used to being hooked up with whoever they want. I turned a couple of them down and I think they were a bit pissed off with that. People definitely get a perception of you, like you're easy or slutty or that how you look is exactly how you are. So I think some of us can surprise them.
What do you go for in a guy?
I like really funny guys and people who are down to earth. People who are genuine and you can trust them. I used to go for all the athletes and players, but I'm so over that. I'm happy I went through that stage but I do not want it anymore! So I just want a genuine, funny guy.
What advice would you give a normal guy trying to pick up a playmate?
Just be yourself and don't try too hard, I guess. And just let things work out how they will.
